Lamka, February 17, 2025: On his maiden visit to the district, the Manipur Chief Secretary met with the Zomi Council & it's frontal organisations, which raised urgent political and developmental concerns, citing lawlessness, stalled projects, and public distrust.
Key Demands :
• Extend Suspension of Operations (SoO): Resume talks with SoO groups for stability.
• Airport: Improve regional accessibility.
• Protection for Displaced Persons: Secure properties and provide compensation.
• Education & Employment: Introduce PG courses and strengthen MGNREGA funding.
• Essential Supplies & Infrastructure: Ensure fair distribution and expedite road, treasury, and transport reforms.
• Administrative Efficiency: Establish a single-window system, expand helicopter services, and publicize welfare programs.
• Economic Revival: Promote sustainable farming and appoint a Lamka-based nodal officer.
The Chief Secretary narrated about government's sincere effort to restore and improve situations in the field of transport, basic needs, students grievances, agragrian economy and of law and order. He also mentioned about the close monitoring of situations in the state by the central government.
