SINCE the eruption of violence on May 3, 2023, the Meitei community has been perpetrating heinous and relentless acts of violence against the minority Kuki community in Manipur. These acts include widespread arson, looting, brutal assaults, cold-blooded murders, and the horrific gang rapes of Kuki women — many of whom were savagely butchered and killed. Even women and children, the most vulnerable members of society, were not spared from the atrocities carried out by Meitei mobs from the very outset of the conflict.

The gross and barbaric violations of human rights remain unchecked and have been escalated by armed groups such as the Arambai Tenggols, Meitei Leepun, COCOMI, Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), etc. Operating under the protection and complicity of the state government, state forces, valley-based insurgent groups, and the Meira Paibis (Meitei women torch-bearers), these groups have openly and systematically executed genocidal attacks against the Kukis. These atrocities amount to nothing short of ethnic cleansing.

The collapse of government institutions in Manipur is complete. The legislature, bureaucracy, and judiciary have utterly failed to uphold law and order. Instead, anarchy and lawlessness prevail, allowing these atrocities to continue unabated.

This video shows the harrowing ordeal of Ms. Florence Nengpichong Hangshing (23), daughter of Amos Paotinthang Hangshing, and Ms. Olivia Lhingneithem Chongloi (20), daughter of Luwis Paolen Chongloi, residents of H. Khopibung, Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District. On May 4, 2023, they were forcibly dragged from their rented residence in Nongmeibung, Imphal East District.

These Kuki ladies were seized by members of the Meira Paibis of Nongmeibung and handed over to Meitei radicals, who subjected them to unspeakable violence. They were forcefully taken into a room, gagged, brutally tortured, and gang-raped before being bludgeoned. Sources said their private parts were chopped off mercilessly
