Date: 31/12/24 --- meeting was held between the Zomi Council(ZC) and the Kuki Inpi CCpur/KIC at the former's office on December 30, 2024. The meeting focused on addressing the unfortunate series of conflict incidents initiated by Mr. Thangboi Haokip at Loklaiphai near Kangvai village on the night of January 29-30, 2024.
1. The joint meeting commended the understanding reached between the local commanders and volunteers of the two villages, facilitated by various CSOs, who arrived at Kangvai on the morning of the same day. It was agreed that all animosity between the two sides would be resolved immediately.
2. As per the decision, Mr. Thangboi Haokip organized a customary feast by slaughtering a four-legged animal on December 31, 2024, to symbolize the settlement of the dispute. This was done with the joint mediation of the ZC and KIC.
3. In line with the agreement, the CVDF has lifted the shutdown it had previously imposed in relation to this matter.
