Date:14/11/24 --- The Zomi Council delegation met with the Director General of Assam Rifles at 27 Sector, Assam Rifles, on 13, November ,2024 to discuss pressing regional issues, including the proposed security fence along the Indo-Myanmar border in the Behiang sector. They raised concerns about the fence's impact on cross-border movement and cultural ties supported by the Free Movement Regime (FMR). Public discontent in Jiribam was also highlighted, with calls for more responsive governance and open dialogue. Both sides committed to finding balanced solutions through collaborative efforts.
