Senapati District, October 31, 2024 – Three prominent organizations from Senapati, including the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), and Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA), have issued a strong condemnation following a violent assault on two Naga men, V. Hrangao Blesson Poumai and Dalou Poumai. The incident reportedly took place around 3 a.m. in Lamshang, Imphal, where members of Arambai Tenggol (AT) allegedly detained, assaulted, and robbed the victims at gunpoint.
The statement criticizes AT for violating basic human rights and questions law enforcement's effectiveness in preventing such attacks. The organizations have demanded swift justice from the Manipur government within 48 hours and called for increased community vigilance to safeguard the rights and dignity of Naga people.
