ITAC: HMAR VILLAGE BURNT BY MEITEIS, WOMAN BURNT TO DEATH

The Indigenous Tribes Advocacy Committee (ITAC), Pherzawr District and Jiribam District, strongly condemns the attack of Zairawn, a Hmar village in Jiribam District, around 9:00 PM on 7 November, 2024 by the suspected Meitei terrorists and Arambai Tengol (AT) with  sophisticated weapons, and burning down of the village.

The ITAC is appalled to know the horrific act of Meitei terrorists and AT violent extremists who shot in the leg of Mrs. Zosangkim, mother of three and wife of Mr. Ngurthansang, resident of Zairawn village, and subsequently burned her to death.

The ITAC demands the competent authorities in the Government and the security forces concerned to nab the culprits and punish as per law.

The ITAC reiterates that it has no trust in the Manipur state government machinery including its state forces and police and, therefore,  requests the Central Government to intervene so as to protect the innocent Kuki-Zomi-Hmar people in Jiribam District and Pherzawl District in Manipur.
