Is UTV a Sacrificial Lamb or Pawn?

Is UTV the Kukis' Convenient Sacrificial Lamb or a Pawn in the Rise of New Warlords?

Ah, UTV—the United Tribal Volunteers—once the proud brainchild of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum, assembled to defend the "homeland" from the Meitei threat. But this isn't some story of brave patriots standing united; this is more like the latest season of Game of Thrones, set against the backdrop of Kuki politics. And here we are, watching as UTV, initially a symbol of protection, has quickly spiraled into a political pawn, caught between powerful factions and suspiciously timed rivalries.

Now, add to the mix one Mr. German Hemlal, KNF-MC boss and known tax enthusiast. Apparently, German's authority comes at a price—one that's doubled recently, as he imposes not one but two drug taxes within his own territory. If there's a better way to make friends (or enemies) among emerging players, we haven't heard of it. His recent assassination attempt? Some say it might have been a little message from those who'd rather not pay his inflated "fees."

But let's be real: this isn't just about UTV or a tax dispute.

O Wait ! Is it UTV or KZVV or KVV.... ahh! The endemic factionalism that always manages to 'increase numbers'

We might be witnessing the dawn of new warlords and cartels jockeying for control. The old guard—German, Seilen, the KNO elites—may finally be meeting contenders ready to challenge their hold on the Kuki power structure. Could UTV, caught between Seilen Haokip's attempt to gain favor with the masses and German's territorial feuds, simply be a pawn in a much larger power struggle?

Ahhhh! Give it some time and they will call for Reconciliation and forgiveness among them again, call it some "Reconciliation Conclave", call the Zomis (again!) to be a part of it, which as a distinct community, the Zomis will have to reject, and then so conveniently blame the Zomis for not wanting Reconciliation - something that they need to do within themselves in the first place, but No! They will conveniently also drag in some, Tom, Dick and Harry self-proclaimed tribe leader to discredit the Zomis and break them apart with electoral ambitions, contract works or other benefits (which will ofcourse be hidden underneath the carpet of "Unity"!!).

The reality is, this "new generation" of power players appears less interested in the Kuki cause than in setting up shop as the next top cartel. And in the chaos, UTV, once hailed as the defender of Kuki interests (well, supposed to the interest of all Zo ethnic tribes, but well, it has become what it has become), seems destined to be used as the sacrificial lamb, a disposable piece in a much larger and murkier game.

So, what's really going on in Kukiland? Is UTV (or KZVV or KVV or whatever they call themselves now) just a convenient excuse to distract from the tax disputes, assassination attempts, and the battle of emerging warlords? Or is it merely the latest pawn in a game where sacrifice is but a small price to pay for those vying to claim the throne? Either way, as new players step up, the true cost might just be paid by the people they claim to protect.
