Colonel Viplav Tripathi, the commanding officer of the 46 Assam Rifles, his wife, Anuja Shukla, their 6-year-old son, Abeer, and four Assam Rifles jawans were killed by Meitei militants in an ambush in S. Sehken village near the Indo-Myanmar border on November 13, 2021.
At least a few other jawans were also injured in the attack. A decorated soldier, Colonel Tripathi had previously served in Mizoram, where he was instrumental in combating illegal smuggling along the Indo-Myanmar border.
Today marks the 3rd anniversary of their sacrifice in service to our nation.
