In a remarkable display of dedication and quick response, Assam Rifles saved the lives of 130 children (22 boys and 108 girls) on 17 November 2024, following a severe food poisoning outbreak at Eklavya School, Moreh, Tengnoupal District.
Alerted by the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Moreh, the Assam Rifles Medical Team immediately swung into action, rushing to the site with essential medicines and medical supplies.
Guided by the Assam Rifles Medical Officer and in coordination with the Tengnoupal Chief Medical Officer, the team worked tirelessly alongside PHC staff to stabilize the affected children.
Personnel from Moreh Battalion of
Assam Rifles ensured seamless coordination and effective care. This joint
effort by Assam Rifles and medical authorities resulted in the timely
stabilization of all 130 young lives, turning a potential tragedy into a
testament of hope and resolve.
