Date: 14/10/2025: As we commemorated the bicentennial of our shared history on the 12th of October, 2024, it is proven that our traditions, cultural markers, and heritage—such as oral histories, ancient practices, and enduring community structures—demonstrate our longstanding presence on this land. Even before India gained independence in 1947 and before Manipur attained statehood in 1972, archaeological evidence, language, and customs further reinforce this deep-rooted connection, underscoring that our ancestors thrived on this land long before contemporary political frameworks took shape. This continuity affirms that our identity, heritage, and legacy are inseparably tied to this land, solidifying our status as indigenous inhabitants. With truth in full justice, the Zomi will always stand firm with its people in safeguarding this timeless legacy and protecting our land for generations to come.
