In Solidarity with Kerala's Wayanad
We are deeply bruised in our hearts on the tragic deluge that is wreaking Wayanad district of Kerala. The people and its government have done enough yeomen services to the Kuki people vis-à-vis the ongoing turmoil in the State of Manipur.
Nature's fury is so unpredictable. In effect, if not worse, the Kuki people have been constrained by the scarce resources we have at our disposal during this man-made war-time calamity. However, we hold the people of Kerala (esp. Wayanadis) so close to our bruised hearts, with which we pray so much interveningly.
We cannot even come down to the spot and render our manual services: you, so close to the ocean and us, to the mountains. Simply put, we are mountains and oceans apart. Nevertheless, these constraints are too mean to use as an alibi for our inaction. We hold you so committedly in our prayers to the Almighty God who has control over everything- the sky, land and the sea.
We cannot compensate enough for your benevolent helping hands. You have given and imparted educations to our Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in your State. Always due is our gratitude to the State Government of Kerala. By far, contributions from the people of the State in either cash or kind or both are equally worth cherishing in our hearts.
In the meantime, the Kerala-based Kuki Students' Organisation in particular and the Kuki community in general are always there to brave the brunt of the deluge with you on equal footing.
That is one part of our solidarity, apart from prayers.
Kuki Students' Organisation, Delhi & NCR would like to applaud KSO, Kerala for having donated a good unit of blood to the flood-affected people in Wayanad, Kerala. That's a prompt conviction and so spontaneous of you.
Thank you Kerala, beyond words. Humanity is what binds us together, come what may. We keep upholding you dearly in our prayers.
*God bless Kuki-Kerala camaraderie!*
