PU JANGKHOLUN HAOKIP (69 years)
(h/o Pi Hatkholhing Haokip)
S/o Pu (L) Doujangam Haokip and Pi (L) Hoikhotin
of MB Saichang Village,
Sangaikot Subdivision, Lamka District
Pu Jangkholun, a steadfast sexagenarian was an epitome of a valiant individual who didn't allow age to deter him from serving his people and defending his village.
It was on 15th February 2024 that an enemy's bullet hit him on his head at MB Saichang village, but he continued to fight for his life. While undergoing treatment in Silchar, the injury to his head resulted in perils to his heart and lungs, and on 9th March 2024, he left for his eternal home. His body was laid to rest with utmost honour at Martyr's cemetary, Sehken, Lamka on 11th March 2024.
Today, he has left an indelible mark as a martyr whose name will resound in history and stands elevated amongst the rank of the bravest sons whose blood fortified our road to freedom.
His magnanimous sacrifice and ephemeral love for his nation and people will continue to inspire his comrades to serve their beloved nation and for exuding this distinguished valour, we give him the utmost salutation.
May his soul rest in peace!
