"The United National Liberation Front, Manipur, was established on November 24, 1964, with the sole purpose to regain the lost sovereignty and independence of Manipur as well as that of the adjoining regions, which are still under Indian colonial occupation through a national people's democratic revolution. The MPA (Manipur People's Army), the armed wing of UNLF, which was formed in 1987, was entrusted with the task of fighting and protecting our people from Indian Occupation Forces (IOF). MPA took to armed action in 1991 and has commended itself with many successful engagements in different parts of Manipur against the IOF." ~ The Telegraph
