Manipur violence: 3 Injured in Bomb Blast in Kwakta

Lamka, June 22: A high-intensity bomb exploded at Kwakta, a municipal town council in the Bishnupur district of Manipur on Wednesday (June 21).

The incident occurred around 7:30 pm when a very high intensive (IED) bomb placed in the vehicle bomb exploded at Kwakta, a Meitei-dominated locality. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the explosive was pre-planned. At least three are reported to be critically injured as of now, further details are still to come.

An unconfirmed source mentioned that a boy was injured in the eye areas and was given first aid at Community Health Centre, Moirang and two others were also admitted in the centre.

 Sources said the bomb was allegedly planted to blow the connecting bridge between Phougakchao Ikhai and Kwakta along the Tiddim Road to disrupt the movement of the army and state forces reinforcement in the severely affected Phougakchao Ikhai, Saiton, and Torbung area.
