A fire broke out at Tuibong bazar in Churachandpur district on Saturday evening.
Two fire tenders of Churachandpur fire station and police department took around an hour to put out the fire which was noticed by evening walkers.
The supermarket was located at along MC Mary Kom road in Tuibong bazar area, and reportedly the building belongs to one Thongsei Haokip of Tuibong. The blaze started on the ground floor of the building, reportedly from a Clothes store. All goods from the store were reduced to ash. Fourtunately, the fire was brought under control in time, and did not spread to other floors. However, according to fire personnel, no casualty was reported.
As per information available from the spot, the cause of fire is believed to be from short-circuit, however, the exact causes is yet to be ascertained.
