CCPUR, JAN 26: In continuation to its commitment to social upliftment of local populace, the Assam Rifles troops conducted awareness lectures for 87 girls of Liematak hts and Rayburn High School, Singngat and 29 girls in Chacha Nehru bal Bhavan, Mata Village on 25 Jan 2021in view of National Girl Child Week.
The event was planned as part of National Girl Child Week being observed in the country wef 21-26 Jan 2021.
As part of the event, a lecture on the subject highlighting rights of girl child and various government schemes for girl child was conducted and it was also attended by Miss Esther Vaiphei, President of SHARE (Social Human Action for Rural Empowerment) NGO at CNBB, Mata.
In addition, a movie to promote awareness of issues faced by girl children in country and measures taken by government to curb these issues was also screened for the students.
