LAMKA, SEPT 19, 2020 ---Churachandpur police on 16 Sept 2020 have arrested three persons in connection with the recent murdered of Mr Arambam Ranjan, said to be a cash replanishing agent (CRA) of SBI ATM in Lamka town, Churachandpur.
The arrested have been identified as V Thanglianpau (40), S/o (L) Tunkhokam of V Munhoih, CCpur; K Somen Singh (36), S/o K Achauba Singh of Khugatampak, Ccpur and Khongkham Brojen Singh (40), S/o (L) K Sohen Singh of Bamon Kampu, Imphal East. Police recovered Rs 20 lakh from them.
Sources said the three arrested were employed by the Writers Safeguard Group, who used to replace/load money in the ATM.
It maybe mentioned that Mr Ranjan was shot dead in a broad daylight while he was about to load money in SBI ATM of Churachandpur Branch in Lamka town on September 4th. The miscreant fled away with a cash of Rs 1.15 crore.
"Two suspected SOO cadres using sophisticated small arms laced with silencer, gunned down Arambam Ranjan, a Meetei labourer who work in a pvt firm ferrying cash to load on the ATM Booths for SBI," as stated in one social media post.
