MANIPUR: Home quarantined girl found hung to death

IMPHAL, JUNE 28, 2020 --- A 21-year girl under home quarantine was found hung to death on Sunday at her residence in Singjamei Pebiya Pandit Leikai.

She has been identified as Naoroibam Sarju, D/o N. Shanta.

She had returned from Delhi in May and completed her procedure and protocol for COVID-19 SOPs, and was continuing her quarantine period at home.

As per report, the young girl has a history of dengue fever 3 months ago while she was staying in delhi. Then, after reaching home and quarantined at Bashikhong Quarantine center, she seemed to have developed mild symptoms of fever. There she was tested for covid on 31st May, and again re-tested on 1st June resulting positive. Then after that she got transferred to JNIMS isolation ward and was treated  until she recovered and tested negative. Thereafter, she was sent to home for home quarantine period.

The MO in-charge and frontline workers of Bashikhong Quarantine center along with police officials of Irilbung police station came to the spot and have taken the deceased body for post mortem.
