SIKKIMESE WOMAN DIES ON HER WAY HOME

MAY 18, 2020 --- In an unfortunate incident, a woman from Sikkim died on her way back home from Madhya Pradesh. The woman has been identified as Chandra Subba hailing from Dentam, West Sikkim.

She was working in Vadodara and was on her way back to Sikkim.

She was travelling with her younger sister Bishnu Maya and her last rites were conducted under the presence of SDM Jabalpur.

She was evacuated from Katni station in Madhya Pradesh as she was not in the condition to travel further.

She was admitted to Katni district hospital and was referred to Jabalpur Medical College by her attending doctor but unfortunately expired on the way.

She was part of a group of 160 Sikkimese being evacuated from Gujarat and died enroute at a hospital in Madhya Pradesh.

Her sister, who was traveling with her, has also been admitted to the hospital as she was not feeling well. The initial reports have diagnosed dengue as the cause.

Samples of the two tested negative for COVID-19. The test results were released by the Jabalpur viral lab at 8 pm of May 17.
