Naga lady dies in a moving train

23 year old Naga woman passes away on train en-route to Dimapur

Kohima, May 23 (NE): In an unfortunate incident, 23 year-old Naga woman passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 while she was returning to Nagaland from Gurugram in Haryana on a special train arranged by the government of Haryana.

The deceased is identified as Nchineileu Disuang. It is reported that she was not well and advised not to travel, but she insisted to return back. She is from Beisumpuikam village, under Peren district, the sole breadwinner in her family.

Confirming the news to NagalandExpress, her family said that she was working as a teacher in South India, near Bangalore. After Christmas last year, she decided to work in Kasauli resort, Himachal Pradesh, but due to lockdown the resort closed down and she shifted towards Delhi to stay with her friends. She had health issues even before she left for Himachal Pradesh but after medical treatment, she got better and had gone for work, said her aunt.

The deceased was de-boarded at Kanpur Railway station for post mortem and necessary procedures. Two persons volunteered to de-board the train along with the mortal remains to take care of necessary arrangements, informed a source.

A Statement from the Nagaland Zeliang Students' Welfare Delhi (NZSWD) said that the president of Beisumpuikam Students' Union confirmed that she underwent testing for Liver problem in "Modern Diagnostic & research centre", Gurugram. As of the time of her journey, the deceased was under medication. There has been no clarification or record of the patient being diagnosed with COVID-19.

The special train arranged by the Haryana government for the stranded citizens of Northeast India departed from Gurugram railway station at around 06:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2020 to Dimapur with 1345 stranded citizens of Northeast India on board.

It is informed that, 426 stranded citizens of Nagaland is on board the train along with the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Assam. The train is expected to arrive at Dimapur railway station on May 24, 2020, around 05:40 am.
