Imphal, April 29, 2020 (DIPR) --- PDS rice under Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) for the month of April, 2020 continues to be lifted in the State.
A total quantity of 330 quintal of rice under OMSS was lifted today in Thoubal District consisting of 280 quintal for Wangkhem Assembly Constituency (A/C) and 50 quintal for Khangabok A/C.
In Churachandpur District too, 1500 quintal of rice under OMSS was lifted today for its Churachandpur A/C.
Apart from lifting, distribution of PDS rice to the beneficiaries in the State is also underway. In Imphal West District, 52 quintal of rice under OMSS was sold today covering 208 households of the District.
The State Government has been taking up its earnest effort, by providing foodgrains specially rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and OMSS, to ensure uninterrupted supply of food grains in the State during the ongoing lockdown to contain outbreak of COVID-19.
