Manipuri woman attacks by 3 men in B’lore

BENGALURU — A Manipuri woman was allegedly assaulted by three men here in Indranagar on the night of 21 June 2018.

The victim was badly beaten by three local men. “It was a shameful incident three men attacks one Manpuri woman in Indranagar over a petty issue of parking. One bike was parked in front of the woman's shop and Mr M (identify unknown) started quarrelling with her not to park the bike,” says Dr Lalrinawmi Ralte (Rini), President of Northeast Helpline, Bangalore.

Dr. Rini says in reality the bike was park not in Mr M’s house but the woman’s shop. The argument got heated and Mr M claimed that he belongs to the locality and she a woman from outside (according to his term) can’t speak anything.

“Mr M left the place and the Manipuri woman also started closing her shop. Then Mr M came back with another two friends and they all attacking the woman. They hit her both ears and head several times. She lost her balance and fall. Then the gang stop and left the place also”.

The three men torn her cloths, several injury marks over her neck, shoulder and head. They pinched and hit her ears and the injury bleeding is still there even after a week also.

The victim went to the hospital and the doctor reported that ‘her ear drum was badly damaged’ as the hole (injured) was very big. The estimate for medical expense is said to be very high.

“Enough is enough. Bangaluru is turning into a city of horror for NE community. It’s high time all the NE community living in Bangalore collectively protest till justice is done,” said Dr Alana Golmei, Founding Member & General Secretary, Northeast Support Centre & Helpline (NESCH), New Delhi.
