NORTH EAST TAMCHON FOOTBALL TOURNEY 2017 BEGINS

NEW DELHI, NOV 20, 2017:  On Monday, KFC lost to Sumi FC 2-3, Hmar FC and Gorkha FC scored one each in full-time, and Bodo FC and Nirvana FC ended in a goalless draw on the third day of the 11th ONGC North-East Tamchon Football Tournament 2017, which was inaugurated on Saturday by Shri Mukhtar Abbal Naqvi, Minister of Minority Affairs (GoI) in Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium. Delhi police commissioner Shri Amulya Patnaik also graced the opening ceremony.


On Sunday the Hornbill  FC thrashed Garo FC 7-0, Zogene FC beat ASUD 3-1, and Sikkim FC won against Wung United by 1-0 goal in the second day of the 11th ONGC NETFT 2017.

On the inaugural day, defending champion Muvanlai Athletics (2015 & 16 Winner) locked horns with the runners-up Zeliangrong FC (2008 & 12 Winner). The two teams ended full-time in goalless.

On Tuesday, Indian Air Force (IAF) will lock horns with Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) FC at 10:30am; Muvanlai Athletics to face KFC at 12:30pm; and Hornbill FC against Gorkha FC at 2:30pm.

On Wednesday, ASUD FC vs Bodo FC at 10:30am; Wung United FC vs IAF at 12:30pm; and Zeliangrong FC vs Sumi  FC at 2:30pm.

On Thursday, Garo FC vs Hmar FC at 10:30am; Zogene FC vs Nirvana FC at 12:30pm; and Sikkim FC vs SSPP FC at 2:30pm.

On Friday, Muvanlai Athletics vs Sumi FC at 10:30am; Hornbill FC vs Hmar FC at 12:30pm; and ASUD FC vs Nirvana FC at 2:30pm.

On Saturday, Wung United FC vs SSPP FC at 10:30am; Zeliangrong FC vs KFC at 12:30pm; and Garo FC vs Gorkha FC at 2:30pm.

On Sunday, Zogene FC vs Bodo FC at 10:30am, and Sikkim FC vs IAF at 2:30pm.

Quater finals scheduled on 27 November at 10:30am and 2pm, and on 28 November at 10:30am and 2pm, Semi finals on 30 November at 10:30am and 2pm. On 2nd December third place match at 2:30pm, and final at 7pm, according to the match fixture. A total of 16 teams will compete for the coveted trophy.  Since its inception more than 3000 footballers have participated in this tournament.

NETFT began in 2007 which was organised by the Tangkhul Naga Society Delhi in memory of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Delhi Mr Tamchon Raingam. Since then this tournament has been organised every year under the theme of "Unity, Friendship, Understand and Sportsmanship".
