New Delhi, Nov 19, 2014: The second day of the 8th North-East Tamchon Football Tournament, held at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday, saw some thrilling matches and impressive goal scores.
In the first match, Muvanlai FC (Kuki) dominated ASUD FC (Arunachal) with a resounding 5-0 victory. Muvanlai player Robert (Jersey No. 19) achieved the tournament's first hat-trick, scoring three goals in the 18th, 41st, and 47th minutes. Milen (Jersey No. 11) and Lamthian (Jersey No. 21) added to the tally with goals in the 26th and 65th minutes, respectively.
The second match between KSL FC (Kangleicha Sanaroi Lup) and Sikkim FC ended in a 1-1 draw. KSL's ST Bhutia (Jersey No. 3) opened the scoring in the 39th minute, while Sikkim's TH Roshan (Jersey No. 54) equalized with a goal in the 54th minute.
In the third match, DMFC (Delhi Mizo) delivered a crushing 5-0 defeat to Garo Warrior. Mizo players M. Tungnung (Jersey No. 27) and Isaac (Jersey No. 23) scored in the 27th and 23rd minutes, respectively. Lalthanzama (Jersey No. 2) netted a goal in the 49th minute, followed by C. Boirangtha (Jersey No. 10) in the 65th minute and LM Guite (Jersey No. 18) in the 68th minute. Garo Warrior failed to score.
The fourth match saw Zeliangrong FC take on Burhangkha Bodo FC. Although the Bodos dominated parts of the game and missed three clear chances, the Zeliangrongs secured a 3-0 victory. Keininglung (Jersey No. 10) scored twice, in the 18th and 57th minutes, while Boris (Jersey No. 9) added another goal in the 65th minute. Zeliangrong FC missed a penalty kick but managed to maintain their lead throughout the match.
