AIZAWL, 15 October 2013: The
Zomi community worldwide is mourning the sudden passing of a distinguished
figure. Rev Dr Chin Do Kham (MDiv, DMin, PhD), affectionately known as Do Kham,
passed away in the state of Maryland on 13 October 2013 due to a heart attack.
He was 54.

Originally from Tiddim Township in Chin State, Myanmar, Dr Kham resided with his family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He briefly served as a faculty member at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa and held a PhD in Theology from Trinity International University. He was the founder and president of Global Outreach and Community Development and also served as the president of both Zomi Inkuan USA and Global Zomi Inkuan.
He is survived by his
wife, Ed, son Joshua, and daughter Mary. Dr Kham was reportedly set to attend
the 3rd World Zomi Convention in Lamka, Manipur, as one of the main speakers
from 25 to 27 October.
Manipur-based organisations, including the Zomi Council,
Zomi Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO), and Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) Headquarters,
Aizawl, have expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
