THE Siamsinpawlpi (Paite Students Welfare

Saturday evening here in SSS-I Auditorium, JNU. The event brought together new
and senior members of the association, along with several distinguished
officers. Mr. Thangzasam, Senior Executive Assistant in the Rajya Sabha, and
Ms. Chiinngaihmuan, an MA second-year student at JNU, served as the comperes
for the evening. Recording duties were handled by Mr. Paulian and Ms.

The programme commenced with a one-minute silence
in memory of a new member who had recently passed away while preparing for
civil services in Delhi. This was followed by an opening prayer led by Church
Elder K. Thangzalun. The SSPP anthem, sung by all Executive Members, set the
tone for the evening. SSPP JHQ-D President Mr. Benjamin Samte warmly welcomed
everyone, expressing gratitude and best wishes to all participants.
The introduction of freshers was a highlight, organized
by the Education Department. Over 60 freshers took to the stage to introduce
themselves, sharing their names, colleges, subjects, local guardians, and
aspirations. Their introductions reflected a deep sense of purpose, with each
one determined to achieve success in the capital. A prayer of blessing for the
freshers was offered by EBCC-CD Local Pastor G. Kamzamuan.
The evening continued with a Word of
Encouragement delivered by Mr. Biaklun Shoute, Chairman of the SSPP-JHQ
Advisory Board. He motivated the freshers, saying, “There is success, there is
no failure. Trust yourself, make things happen, and possess a ‘do it’ spirit.”
Following him, Mr. Vumlunmang IAS shared a light-hearted yet inspiring speech,
advising freshers to aim for four things in life: “One wife, children, a house
with 3-4 bedrooms, and a vehicle.” His underlying message emphasized the
importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving these goals.
A unique segment, Delhi Brief, featured
three resource persons delivering insightful talks. Ms. Manthianching Guite, a
PhD research scholar from JNU, spoke on Academic Life (A Student’s
Perspective). Mr. Bruce K. Thangkhal addressed Social
Life (Focusing on City & Secure Living), and Evangelist Paul
Pauzakhawm, a missionary working among Muslim slums in Delhi, discussed Religious
Life (Balancing Spiritual and Social Aspects). The interactive session
allowed attendees to ask questions, with the speakers providing clear and
practical answers.
The second session kicked off with an energetic
hip-hop dance by Mr. Ngulkhanthang, whose incredible stunts and agile movements
captivated the audience.
The session also included two practical and
informative talks. Mrs. Mercy Guite, an Assistant Professor of German Language
at JNU, spoke on the Scope of Foreign Languages (Higher Education: MA &
Above). Meanwhile, Mr. Thawngkhansiam Tonsing, an Assistant Professor of
Economics at Kalindi College, DU, covered the Scope of Economics &
Related Fields (Graduation & Above). Both speakers addressed questions
with remarkable clarity, leaving the audience better informed and more
confident.

audience with their soulful performances, filling the hall with joy and
delight.
